Harden

Once known to the farmers of the Andes as “the lady who brings the rain,” Dr. Carol Harden studies the interactions of human activities and physical / hydrological processes in mountain watersheds.  She has studied soil erosion and changes in ecosystem services associated with changes in land use in highland South America, as well as stream-bank and channel change in fluvial systems in the Southern Appalachian mountains.
