Annie Meltzer Receives a National Geographic Internship

20140123_081533Graduate student, Annie Meltzer, recieves an internship working with National Geographic Society’s grant programs.  Her main role with the NGS/Waitt grant program is to create metrics to assess the effectiveness of the program.  She is also helping find new grantees for the NGS Global Exploration Fund, which establishes funds and local support for air and water conservation research in China.  These grant programs work closely with NGS media teams to document and distribute the findings of the NGS grantees, one of her projects is keeping tabs on the impact of the media presence of these grantees.  Boosting media coverage of the current grantees would raise awareness of these programs and attract new researchers, conservationists, and explorers to National Geographic.
