Geographers Win National Awards for Teaching and Research

UTK Geographers won numerous awards at the Annual Meeting of the American Geographers last week.

Graduate Students:
Emily Frazier: Student Paper Award, Population Specialty Group, American Association of Geographers.
Maegen Rochner: Ph.D. Student Research Grant Competition, Biogeography Specialty Group, American Association of Geographers.

Faculty:
Ron Kalafsky: Harm J. de Blij Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Geography Teaching
Derek Alderman: Distinguished Career Award, Ethnic Geography Specialty Group
Sally Horn: Melvin G. Marcus Award for Physical Geography
Additionally, Charles Aiken (Emeritus) was recognized for his 50 years of membership in the AAG.
