Katrina Stack


Katrina’s primary research areas are cultural historical geography and geographies of memory, with a focus on public history, heritage tourism, and critical place naming. Katrina is a research fellow for Tourism RESET, a multi-university and interdisciplinary research and outreach initiative that seeks to identify, study, and challenge patterns of social inequity in the tourism industry. Her current projects include studies of:

  • neglected spaces of the African American freedom struggle
  • policies regarding the commemorative landscape of Civil War battlefields
  • critical place naming on United States bases
