Dr. Wu Receives Young Scientist Award

We just received great news about Dr. Wu’s accomplishments. We are pleased to report that Dr. Wu just received the Global Young Scientist Award from the World Geospatial Developers Conference (WGDC), the largest Chinese conference on geospatial technologies. Sponsored by Taber and co-hosted by CPGIS, ACM SIGSPATIAL China Branch and China Society of Surveying and Mapping, the Global Frontier Science and Technology Young Scientist Forum is one of the most distinctive forums of WGDC2020 Global Geographic Information Developers Conference, based on WGDC. The global scientific and technological innovation platform aims to discuss in-depth the opportunities, challenges and future development directions of cutting-edge technology, strengthen exchanges and integration between multiple disciplines, and discover and support young pioneers with scientific innovation spirit and future influence. For the Global Young Scientist Award category, ten young Chinese scholars out of hundreds of candidates were selected. Proudly Dr. Wu is one of them. There is another recipient of the award from the US (Dr. Wenwen Li, an Associate Professor from Arizona State University). Dr. Wu’s main research directions include geographic big data, cloud computing, wetland and hydrological remote sensing, and the development of open source GIS software packages. Dr. Wu was recommended for the award based on rigorous scientific spirit and full of enthusiasm for sharing and open source. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Wu for this valuable award.
