Description:

The Department of Geography at The University of Tennessee Knoxville invites applications for a one-year appointment for a Lecturer in physical geography. Teaching responsibilities for the fall 2021 semester consist of two lecture sections of Geography 131: Climate, Weather, and Climate Change; and Geography 331: Natural Hazards. Spring 2022 teaching will consist of a repeat of 131 and 331, and two courses to be determined with consideration of the lecturer’s areas of specialty within physical geography. A centralized course design and teaching materials will be provided for 131 and 331. The position comes with a faculty office in the Burchfiel Geography Building, use of a laptop computer, access to department research labs, and funds for conference travel. The salary for this position is $45,000 and the position includes benefits.

Requirements:

The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. by August 1, 2021, ability to teach the courses above, and some teaching experience.
