PhD Student | Human Geography
Brian Boyce is a PhD Candidate in Human Geography at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research examines how Afro-diasporic communities in the Caribbean and the United States transform histories of displacement and uneven development into infrastructures of survival, belonging, and futurity. Drawing on fieldwork in Trinidad and New Orleans, his work engages Black Geographies, performance studies, and political economy, while also extending into digital humanities projects that map erased Black histories and speculative writing rooted in Caribbean folklore. He is committed to inclusive, community-based scholarship, having mentored first-generation students and curated the award-winning Caribbean Currents exhibit.
