Ella graduated with her B.A. in Geography this past May and just began her M.S. in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Utah. Her work focuses on climate mechanisms influencing the West Antarctic Ice Sheet and the implications for sea-level rise projections. In her undergraduate years, she worked as a research assistant for Dr. Ellis, studying the urban heat island effect in the Knoxville area. Ella also interned at the NOAA Air Resources Laboratory in Oak Ridge and the National Weather Center in Norman, OK, where she studied the geographic distribution of snow squall conditions, winning an award for her poster at SEDAAG in 2022. She served as the President of UTAGS, where she mentored students interested in atmospheric sciences and continued to foster a community of geographers and sustainers. Way to go, Ella!!
