I’m a well-rounded geographer with research specialties in critical parks geographies, place naming studies, and geography education. I am passionate about teaching geography and facilitating outdoor experiences for students. In my free time, I love to travel to parks and protected areas with friends and family.

I’m originally from Machesney Park, Illinois, and I proudly serve as the Camp Director of Canyon Camp, a Scouting America summer camp in Northwest Illinois.

I have graduated from the University of Tennessee and now serve as a Visiting Honors Lecturer at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE).
