Anna LaFollete

MS Student | Physical Geography

I’m a second-year Master’s student in UT’s Department of Geography and Sustainability, with research interests in paleoenvironmental reconstruction, biogeography, and human-environment interactions. More specifically, I work alongside researchers who use a variety of indicators preserved in lake and wetland sediments to develop records of climate, vegetation, fire, and human histories across North and Central America.

When I’m not in the lab, digging through mud, I serve as a graduate teaching assistant in our introductory physical geography courses. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work closely with undergraduate students and teach them about these fascinating topics, learn from their questions and experiences, and help guide them toward other valuable learning and research opportunities within our department.
