Annie Liu
Enrollment Navigator, Central Ohio Technical College | Human Geography
Annie Liu is a two time alumna of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Geography and Sustainability Department, getting a BA in Fall 2022 and an MS in Summer 2025. She has held GIS/geography internships with Child Care Aware of America, ESRI, and the American Association of Geographers during her undergraduate time. Through engagement in multiple classes outside of the discipline of geography, she figured out her passion for Asian American geographies, writing a thesis on the Asian American experience in racialized spaces of a predominantly white university in southeastern Appalachia.
She is a proud alumna of the Critical Language Scholarship ‘21 in Portuguese, and was one of 25 scholars chosen from around the US within the competitive CLS alumni pool to attend a fully funded STEM Entrepreneurship seminar in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in December of 2024. She was a finalist for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Taiwan for the 2025/2026 year, but declined it due to personal reasons.
Annie is now an Enrollment Navigator for Central Ohio Technical College in Newark, Ohio, right outside of Columbus, Ohio. This is a natural continuation of all the skills learned through their student employment on campus as a College of Arts and Sciences Ambassador, an International House Student Assistant, a Student Library Assistant, an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, and a Graduate Teaching Assistant. She loves serving COTC students in getting registered and prepared for college, and is passionate about providing increased access to higher education through community college.
