Maya is a first year PhD student, working with Gabe Schwartzman. Her interests lay in the politics of and accountability within post-industrial land use transition and market-based climate change solutions in Central Appalachia. She focuses on the local implications of large-scale forest carbon projects and how the value of forests are understood, prioritized, and acted upon among diverse actors and communities.
