Simon Jolly

UTK Torchbearer, Incoming ESRI Intern

My name is Simon Jolly, and I am amongst the newest alumni to the University of Tennessee and the Geography department! Recently, I was selected as—apparently a first for the Geography department—a Torchbearer, the highest student honor conferred by the university. In my time at UTK, I committed myself to advancing a variety of sustainability initiatives through my various involvements. From offering reusable to-go boxes at campus dining halls to developing concrete plans for renewable energy expansion, I hope that my advocacy and work, alongside so many of my incredible peers, will have an impact for years to come. The Student Government Association, Office of Sustainability, and University Housing all served as such incredible communities in my time here. So… what’s next? I’m excited to be interning with Esri Professional Services’ Environment and Geodesign Department to do environmental consulting work for public/private sector clients! Thanks so much to all the students, faculty, staff, and alumni at UTK that have poured so much into me over the last four years; I am forever grateful.
