UT Geography Faculty and Student Receive National Recognition
Two members of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Department of Geography and Sustainability were honored with major awards at the International Society for Landscape, Place, and Material Culture (ISLPMC) annual meeting and banquet.
Thomas Bell, Professor Emeritus of Geography, received the Henry H. Douglas Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his long and distinguished career of meaningful contributions to the mission of ISLPMC.
Seth Kannarr, a graduate student in the department, received the Warren E. Roberts Graduate Student Paper Award, which recognizes outstanding scholarship by a graduate student in the study of landscape, place, and material culture.
These honors highlight the department’s continued excellence and engagement in the cultural and historical dimensions of geography. Congratulations to Thomas Bell and Seth Kannarr on their outstanding achievements!
